Program for Faculty Development

Being an educator is a core part of being a Faculty member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University.  As Ernest Boyer states, “Teaching is the heartbeat of the educational enterprise”.  Being an educator encompasses many overlapping domains. The Program for Faculty Development (PFD)  is dedicated to helping you develop your skills as an educator, scholar, professional and leader.

We offer various workshops/sessions in teaching and learning and in educational technologies.  All of our offerings may be
applied to our  Academic Pathways Teaching Certificates  from the basic to advanced levels.  We also offer the
University Teaching Program (UTP)  for those who wish to more formally develop their skills as educators.

For a brief overview of the Program for Faculty Development (PFD), we invite you to  view this introductory presentation.

For those who wish to make education a major component of their academic career, McMaster University also offers a Master of Science in Health Science Education program.
